Writing a Post on MELEK
Writing a post on melek.salon takes a title, a body, a category and tags. A post is stored on the MELEK Blockchain as a comment operation that has no parent; a reply is the same operation with a parent. Part of Posting on MELEK.
Opening the editor
Sign in (see Signing In to Post on MELEK), then choose Post in the header. The editor opens at melek.salon/submit.html. On a wide screen the Creation tools panel sits to the right of the editor: Novel Writing, Photos (Pinboard), Image Generation, Music and Video (Bifrost).
Title
The title is the headline people see in feeds. Plain and specific works best. The title also becomes the post's web address (its permlink), which does not change if you edit the title later.
Body
The body is written in Markdown. See Formatting Posts with Markdown. Add pictures by uploading them or by pasting their markdown. See Images and Video in Posts. The preview under the editor shows the post as readers will see it.
Category
Every post needs a category, chosen from the Category (required) menu. The category becomes the post's first tag. See Post Categories on MELEK.
Tags
After the category, a post can carry up to four more tags, five in total. See Tags on MELEK.
Rewards and Advanced Settings
Under the editor, Rewards shows how the post will pay, and Advanced Settings lets you choose Power Up 100% or Decline Payout, and add Beneficiaries who share the author's reward. Set these before you publish. See Post Rewards on MELEK.
Publishing
Choose Post. Your browser signs the operation with your posting key, and the post is written into the next block, usually within three seconds. The chain allows one new top-level post every five minutes per account; replies can be made every 20 seconds.
Editing and permanence
You can edit a post at any time. An edit is a new version of the same comment, and the earlier versions stay in the chain's history. Write as if on the record. A post with no votes and no replies can be deleted; once it has either, it stays.
