Voting and Curation on MELEK

Voting on melek.salon decides which posts earn and which rise in the feeds. Voting well is called curation, and it earns curation rewards. Part of Posting on MELEK.

Voting on a post

Choose the up arrow under a post or comment to upvote it. Once your account holds more than 50 MELEK Power, choosing the arrow opens a slider so you can set how strong the vote is; below that, every vote is full strength. melek.salon has no downvote button. To report plagiarism, spam or abuse, use the post's Report link.

Voting power

Each account has voting power. Every vote uses some of it, and it refills on its own over five days. Stronger votes use more. If your power runs low, vote less for a while.

Your vote's weight

The weight of a vote comes from the voter's MELEK Power: MELEK staked by powering up in the wallet. More MELEK Power means heavier votes. See Post Rewards on MELEK.

Curation rewards

Half of each post's reward goes to the people who voted on it. Voting on good work early earns a larger share than piling on later.

Changing a vote

You can change a vote on a post up to five times. In the last twelve hours before a post pays out, new upvotes no longer add to it.

Automatic voting

Curation trails and auto-voting let an account vote along with another, on a schedule. See Curation Trails and Auto-Voting.
