The Theorizer
The Theorizer is a YouTube channel that makes deep-dive "theory" videos searching for hidden meaning and secret mysteries inside works of fiction. It should not be confused with MatPat's Game Theory / The Game Theorists — it is a separate creator with its own, more intense style. It appears in Media and Personalities as a YouTuber entry, covered for what it makes.
What it makes
Where Game Theory aimed mostly at video games, The Theorizer ranges across movies, television, and animation (plus some games), reading them as puzzles with a hidden layer underneath. Recurring subjects include Coraline, Supernatural, and the big animation studios — Pixar and DreamWorks films get the full treatment. The through-line is an insistence that popular fiction is secretly structured, that there is a "real" explanation beneath the surface story, and that the channel is going to find it.
Style
The delivery is the signature. It is not satire — the earnestness is real — and it runs toward the extreme and the stream-of-consciousness: long, intense, sometimes sprawling arguments that pile detail on detail. Viewers come as much for that committed, slightly feverish energy as for the conclusions, which is part of why the channel is distinctive in a crowded media-analysis field.
Why it fits the Library
The theory-video genre is itself worth understanding: a whole generation learned to read texts for hidden structure — to "theorize" — from channels like this one, which rhymes with the Library's own habit of reading myth, scripture, and the ancient record for the pattern underneath (see Crypt-ology and Mystery Schools). We point to it as a well-known example of the form, not as a source of settled answers.
