SoapBox Credentials

SoapBox Credentials is a directory that maps the free and low-cost credential paths the wider world already offers — industry by industry — and shows where the ecosystem's own Academy fits alongside them. It is an honest orientation tool: most of what it points to belongs to established institutions, not to SoapBox, and the directory says so plainly.

What it maps

Organized by field, it gathers routes to real credentials that cost little or nothing:

Free and low-cost certificate programs, MOOCs, and open courseware.
Industry certifications, apprenticeship and licensing paths, and CLEP/exam-for-credit options.
Where each path actually leads — what a given credential is worth and to whom.

This complements Autodidacts and Credentials, which is the deeper reference on teaching yourself and getting recognized for it.

Where the Academy fits

The ecosystem's own credential Academy is one entry in this larger map, not the whole map. The directory is deliberately outward-looking: it sends you to the best available path, whoever runs it, rather than steering everything back inward.
