**PRANA** is a proof-of-work blockchain using the Etchash algorithm, launched without a premine. It is the compute half of a two-chain ecosystem whose social half is MELEK.

## Purpose

PRANA exists to produce and account for compute. The stated design intent is that an AI system operating on the social chain needs processing capacity, and that a proof-of-work chain is a way to organise and pay for it — hence the framing "mine the compute the people own."

## Parameters

- Chain ID: 712217
- Algorithm: Etchash (Dagger-Hashimoto family)
- Block interval: approximately 11 seconds
- Block reward: 2 PRANA, paid to the miner
- Client: CoreGeth
- No premine

Because the reward is a coinbase issuance rather than a transaction, it does not appear as a transfer in a block's transaction list. It can be confirmed by reading a miner's balance across successive blocks.

## Ecosystem

PRANA hosts an EVM environment. KulaSwap runs as its decentralised exchange, and wrapped Hive-Engine assets — notably VKBT and CURE — are bridged onto it under multisignature custody, which is what connects the MELEK side to outside value.
